Braille Tee-Shirts

"Do Not Touch The Art"
Designed by: Barbara Loomis
Linksource: www.fashionoffice.org

The design of this tee-shirt is very unique, trendy, and contraversial, at least to most of us, that is. What is imprinted on the breast area of this tees actually the braille words of "Do not touch the art." For the blinds, however, reading does requires them to touch with their hands!

As shown on the picture above, the braille words were placed strategically on the breast area. It's meant to intensify the message, yet placing the words there simply means the area will be more susceptible to readin...hmm... I mean.. finger fiddling. =)

IRONMAN, anyone?

Do you brace yourself watching the latest flick, Ironman ?

Hmm... the current trend in the upcoming movies (HellBoy, The Dark Knight, GI Joe; just to name a few) spurred me to dig into the current available exoarmor & powersuit available in the market.
In this modern & technologically advanced society, who says that it is impossible to realize all the wild, creative thoughts from comics to make into reality? When you are watching the movie out there, many scientists have worked so hard to explore and invents new & better technology so you and I would reap the benefits.
Words spoken, many of the features you've seen in movies is possible to replicate. The script writers will produce many facts that are undeniably true, mix it with additional 'fantasy' ingredients, wraps it up, and give to you as a set meal. It is called sci-fi movies..., in case you don't know. =)
With these technology are now available, you may be the next superhero down the street.

POCSKI - [EXOARMOR]
POC lab's apparel designs apparently catches my attention on their 'cool~looking', wearable armor. Their design inspiration comes from beetle, with thousands of species that differentiate their appearances. They have a whole ranges of armors to protect the most important organ of your body and of course, does not limit your natural body & limb movements. Their products are especially designed to give superior protection to ski atheletes, as well as racers. To achieve their goals, they incorporated many modern materials which are very high in quality, lightweight, and importantly it looks cool, because the designers makes sure that you will not look like neighbor's kids with their bedsheet 'cape' on..

Whether the accident was freefall, physical impact, shock, scratches, and even cuts, the wearers can walk away mostly with minor injuries if not unharmed. Cool? Yes indeed!! Just don't even try thinking of any stupid ways to injure yourself on your way being a neighborhood hero.

CYBERDYNE - [POWERSUIT]
Japanese really knows how to make everyone's dream come true with their advanced technology. A powersuit that has been on sale for quite a while in Japan (HAL3, that is). Originally it was designed to help nurses carry patients and relocate heavy objects. Thankfullly, the nation's young generation crysis has made the country to concentrate and directs all their technology to create better life support system as well as Artificial Intelligence.

Shown in the pictures is the latest HAL5 system, and how it is worn on the body. This suit is battery operated, and can lasts for 2 hours per single charge. It will help you carry heavy items without breaking your spines. However, it does not let you fly and race with fighter jet planes.
Perhaps you will need to wait until batteries can store enough energy to power up an airplane (in this case) to jet through the sky for a single 30 minutes trip.
However, even without these fancy 'flying' features, the worlds would be unable to stop you from being a neighborhood hero, right??

Eazzzy camera

The designer, Sung Woo Park, tried to cut one step to transfer the files that a normal digital camera or phone camera by enabling the camera to connect directly to computer via USB connection. With no viewfinder, no LCD screen, no buttons except 1, Eazzzy camera is stripped down to it’s bare functions. Fashionable and functional, this combination make Eazzzy very attractive.

squba rinspeed

Swiss designers has claim that they have built the first true underwater car, and it was inspired by the james bond movie The SPy Who Loves Me.

it was able to 'fly' underwater by sucking the water from the front grill an then pump it out from the two vent jets on the side, and it dive up to 10 metres below.

this two-seater also provide a self-contained oxygen suply for the passengers, the car has no roof so that passengers can escape easily in emergency, but unfortunately, this £750.000 car is a one-off and will not be on sale.

Electrolux - Ultrasilencer Vacuum

Launch of Ultrasilencer by Pia Wallen for Electrolux. One of the world’s quietest vacuum cleaner startling in its simplicity. Best known for her felt slippers, Pia Wallen used traditional Swedish materials and techniques in new ways. Functionality, simplicity and the contemporary interpretation of themes that run through her work. It reminded her of the most beautiful sound she knows - the sound of falling snow. Totally white, the design is boldly unconventional and as fresh as a layer of Scandinavian snow. But in Pia’s work, there is always a touch of humor. Flashes of bright orange on some of the machine’s functions echo the color of guide poles that are used to mark pathways through the wintry Swedish landscape.
