martin neuhaus: becherlicht
'becherlicht' by martin neuhaus

designer martin neuhaus has designed 'becherlicht' a cup light which functions
as a wall luminaire. the light throws three-dimensional colored shadows onto the wall.
neuhaus always wanted the old classic lampshade to have an 'aha!' factor.
who would have thought a cup? a bit of an optical illusion, when the light is in 'off' mode,
it appears to be absolutely nothing.
the project is on show in the 'tatorte - design braucht täter' (crime scenes -
design needs perpetrators) exhibition as part of the passegen program of imm cologne 2010.
when turned on, the light casts three-dimensional colored shadows onto the wall
