Glimpse

Glimpse is a mirror that gives an illusion of a door opening on any given surface. Sometimes we cannot help but to try and catch a glimpse of the other side.

Japanese toilet paper “Drop” is the scariest toilet paper you’ve ever seen

Next is Drop by Koji Suzuki, author of horror-story Ring, which was adapted into a movie. The upcoming June 6th release is getting a lot of attention, not so much because of the magnitude of the event but because of the packaging. It’s being packaged as a roll of toilet paper and is being marketed as “Koji Suzuki’s bathroom-reading horror novel Drop.” Awesome…. and yes, I know what you’re thinking. If you don’t like it when you’re done you can wipe your ass with it. Pre-order it for about $2 HERE.

Marloes ten Bhömer Couture Shoes

Her cutting edge, distinct shoe designs offer an alternative to existing design languages and typologies. They have a design language that is built on clean lines, materials, and construction techniques that are closer to design and architecture than women’s fashion.
“I’m interested in designing objects that ignore or challenge conventions in order to make the product-design world less generic,” says the London-based designer. “l rethink what an object can look like or how it can function. There can be more to clothes.”

adam kalkin: kalkin house

adam kalkin created the ‘kalkin house’ as an exhibition space for the shelburne museum in vermont.
when it originally opened in 2001 the home was named ‘collector’s house’ and showcasing pieces form
the museum’s vast collection. today the home has a new curatorial purpose as a gallery for contemporary
design. the structure is made from three shipping containers, located inside a large steel shed. the containers
make up the two bedrooms with ensuite washrooms and a study. the outer shed features a double story
garage door opening on both sides to open up the space to the outdoors. at the western end the shed has
been extended to create a protected outdoor area which is enclosed with large curtains made from sail
material. inside there is also a large kitchen area in the centre of the home with steel staircases on either side.

Do It All Knife

Our world is over technologized and we tend to stop enjoying the simple things in life. Evidence can be found in our kitchen, where blenders and food processors clutter our working space. BasicKnives reinterprets one of our most basic kitchen tools, the knife. The set of knives makes other kitchen tool redundant by incorporating different (cutting)-actions within the un-used surfaces of the blades.
