nendo part of 'detour' moleskine exhibition
moleskin sketchbook by nendo
opening on october 16th at the MoMA design store tokyo is the detour exhibition
by moleskine, a project dedicated to culture and creativity worldwide that features
internationally recognized artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers,
illustrators, and writers.
the travelling group show curated by raffaella guidobono, invites authors to compile
and illustrate moleskine notebooks with experienced knowledge insider tips for
adventurous nomads. all of them deliver an insight into the artists' creative process.
amongst the notebooks some works contain extensive stories; others are turned into
pieces of contemporary art and design.
for the exhibition nendo based their concept on the idea of place.
by cutting the pages of the sketchbook to create a three-dimensional landscape,
we wanted to show the way that sketches function in the space between two and
three dimensions, and to present the sketchbook itself as a 'place' - nendo
the exhibition will be on view until november 4, 2009.
