'galileo's telescope' designed by odoardo fioravanti and produced by palomar draws from
the initial designs made by galileo in 1609, however, with a more contemporary finish.
it has the same dimensions, focal length (1 meter) and is made out of the same wooden
material. this product, combining past and present, has the aim of updating the ancient
instrument through its design and more advanced optical technology. the galileo telescope
was developed in florence, the same location where galileo first put his telescope design
to use. users can observe elements of the solar system such as the moon and planets,
but also use it as a powerful terrestrial telescope.
