nendo shoe horn for maruni
shoe horn by nendo for maruni wood industry
materials: maple, steel, neodymium magnet
as the name suggests, shoe horns were first made by carving animal horns; in the project
by japanese designer nendo, the shearing motion of the shoehorn pays homage to its origins.

the shoehorn can be removed with one hand; the stand is weighted for proper resistance.
when you lift the top part of the cone, the shoehorn comes away with a conic section.
the shoehorn and stand, connected by an embedded neodymium magnet, are carved from
a single block of wood for complete continuity of the wood grain.
