karimoku new collection

karimoku japanese furniture manufacturer have teamed up with design studio
isolation unit to produce a collection of products.

isolation unit selected international designers; scholten & baijings (netherlands),
sylvain willenz (belgium) and big game (switzerland/belgium) to create furniture
for karimoku, that is contemporary and strictly sustainable; with the aim to promote
the maintenance and conservation of forests and in the long term increase biodiversity
wood gained from the thinning of japanese forests, common waste product of forestry
was used for all products.

the new products will be on display at 100% design tokyo from october 30th to november 3, 2009.
