London Olympic Tower by Anish Kapoor

London Olympic Tower by Anish Kapoor

I kind of hate this design as many Londoners do. Drawing comments like "Roller coaster ride goes wrong" to "A waste of money and space". But its the hype for the upcoming 2012 Olympic so I'll just let everyone hate it as well.

A spiraling red tower, dubbed "Orbit," designed by Turner prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor was named the winner of the competition to design the new “Olympic Tower” for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in London. As Britain biggest piece of public art, the 394-foot snaking steel tower will allow people to climb, giving a spectacular view of London.

The new tower will cost 19 million pound or $29 million and will be funded by ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steel manufacturer.
