jonas lyndby jensen: twist chair
the twist chair by jonas lyndby jensen creates a cocoon like environment using a single loop.
the chair is built from a twisted band which serves as the seat, backrest and a shelter for the sitter.
the loop shape not only provides a variety of seating positions but also serves as a sound barrier,
sheltering the user from the noise of their surrounding environment. this functionality was
deliberate since the project was first developed for use in a library. below you can also see the
building process for the chair that was manufactured with the help of erik jørgensen furniture.
the textile pattern is by morten la cour and is designed to emphasize the chair’s nest like qualities.
